1. Review your unit 3 personal assessment of your psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. Reflect on these areas. How did you score yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 in unit 3? How do you score yourself now? Has the score changed? Why or why not?
For unit 3 on a scale of 1 to 10, I rated my physical wellbeing as a 5, because I was still trying to find the naturalist way to deal with my PCOS. My spiritual well-being I rated as a 7, I am always seeking spiritual enlightenment, which I truly believe I am close but not close enough. My psychological well-being I rated as a 7due to my spiritual awareness helps me to balance my psychological well-being. My score has not changed, because I still have challenges with my physical wellbeing as far as finding the right exercise regimen to incorporate in my life daily. As I was told by a wellness consultant this process will take me about 6 months to accomplish due to my nutritional wellness as well.
2. Review the goals and activities you set for yourself in each area. Have you made progress toward the goals? Explain.
I have made progress towards my goal; I started to detoxify my system to eliminate the toxins that are in my body. So far I have lost 12lbs. once this process is completed I will start introduce my body with the most natural herbs and foods to jumpstart my hormones in become balanced. My spiritual and psychological goals are constant growth daily. Which I can actually feel the spiritual transformation and I am loving it.
3. Have you implemented the activities you chose for your well-being in each of the three areas? Explain.
Yes I have continued to implement the activities I chose for my well-being. I have found the necessary assistance with holistic healing, where the individual is willing to work with me through my beginning process; and she even gave me a list of the natural products I can use to help with my overall well-being. My meditation practice I need to continue getting use to incorporation the breathing exercises instead of just sitting in silence with my thoughts. Prayer and my faith is stronger every day.
4. Summarize your personal experience throughout this course. Have you developed improved well-being? What has been rewarding? What has been difficult? How will this experience improve your ability to assist others?
Through out this course I would say that my personal experience has improved. Before this semester, I did not know what electives I would take; since I got laid off in Feb 2010, I had to deal with a lot of additional stress. In addition, I had to deal with being diagnosed with PCOS, which was causing a lot of different changes in my body I was not prepared to deal with. I had started doing some research on my own about reversing my PCOS, so I could get off the medications that was making me sicker than ever. When it was time for me to pick my electives I saw 2 classes of interest; I then thought to myself that was the holy spirit directing me in that direction. I looked at it as a set up by God! The 2 classes I chose was this one Creating Wellness: Psychological and Spiritual Aspects of Healing and Stress: Critical Issues in Management and Prevention. To tell you the truth, it was right on time.
